Setup and controls

For upgraded SmokeGENIE: the startup screen must display “PRESS 3x TO START”. These button sequences are SmokeGENIE instructions; other models use their own setup guidance.

How do I pair a remote button with SmokeGENIE?

1. Restart SmokeGENIE.
2. Within 30 seconds, hold C + D on Magic Remote for 5 seconds.
3. When the SET light on SmokeGENIE turns on, press your chosen remote button four times.

How do I set separate Start and Stop buttons?

Restart SmokeGENIE. Within 30 seconds, hold C + D for 5 seconds. When the SET light on SmokeGENIE turns on, press your intended Start button once, followed by your intended Stop button three times. For example, A → B → B → B assigns A to Start and B to Stop.

My SmokeGENIE is not responding. What should I check?

Check that your SmokeGENIE startup screen reads “PRESS 3x TO START”. Then review the pairing steps above, including the 30-second setup window and the SET light.

If the setup still does not respond, contact PMI support with your machine model, startup-screen message and what the SET light does. For other models, use their own pairing instructions.
