DCPro Gear Night: Fog Machine and Food Photography with Joel Chew

DC Pro Content Creators Community Gear Night held a food photography workshop with Nikon Creator Joel Chew along with PMI Gear for fog machines and Yongnuo for lighting and lenses. Attendants were able to explore how to use the latest SmokeNINJA PRO presets and the smoke bubbles in food photography, shooting each delectable dish with a unique twist.

Exploring Fog Machine Presets: Dry Ice, Steam, and Fog

PMI's fog machine makes it easy to incorporate dry ice, steam, and fog effects in just a couple of seconds. Photographers were able to steam up their shots quickly during the Gear Night, a must-have in a food photographer's arsenal. The Dry Ice effect's smooth texture came in handy to highlight the fresh seafood dish.

Incorporating Smoke Bubbles

PMI's latest addition to its collection is the Smoke Bubble and the Smoke Nozzle. When handled without the haze nozzle, large and controllable bubbles can be made in photography as well as videography. Joel Chew incorporates it in the shot above for Toku Nori to create a dramatic effect.
